Your clipboard stays on your Mac

CopyCat's core promise is privacy by design. Everything you copy — text, links, images, files, colors — is processed and stored only on your Mac. Clipboard content is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, is never written to logs, and is cleared when the app quits unless you explicitly enable local persistence in Settings.

What CopyCat never does

• No analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind
• No accounts — we don't know who you are
• No clipboard content in crash reports, logs, or network traffic
• Content marked as sensitive by password managers is never captured

Network requests the app makes

CopyCat contacts the network only for three narrow purposes:

• License activation and validation — your license key, a device name, an anonymous device identifier (a one-way hash of your Mac's hardware UUID), and the app version are sent to our merchant of record, Polar. Never clipboard content.
• Update checks — the app periodically fetches an update feed from voprexlabs.com to see whether a new version is available (standard Sparkle mechanism).
• Link icons (optional) — when you copy a link, CopyCat may fetch that site's favicon directly from the site itself, never through a third-party service. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy.

This website

voprexlabs.com uses Open Analytics for privacy-friendly, aggregate visit statistics. This applies to the website only — the CopyCat app itself contains no analytics of any kind.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Polar as merchant of record. Your payment details go to Polar, not to us. Their privacy policy is available at polar.sh/legal/privacy. Every license includes a 7-day money-back guarantee.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date. Material changes will be noted in release notes.
